Unfortunately, Nicole lost to #3 seed Kaia Kanepi of Estonia 64 16 36 in the second round in Memphis.

It was a very tight match except of the second set where Nicole didn't really serve well while Kanepi was playing very well. In the first set, Nicole wasn't broken but had to save 0-40 when serving for the set. The final set was very tight but at 3-3 Nicole couldn't take an advantage of 40-15 on her serve and lost this decisive game of the final set.

Next tournament will be $25,000 challenger in Hammond which stats on March 1.

Nicole Vaidisova won her first round match against home Laura Granville 64 62 in 58 minutes on Tuesday in Memphis. This is the first WTA Tour main draw win since Barcelona 2009 where Nicole beat Yevgeniya Savranska in two sets.

Nicole was trailing 1-3 in the first set but immediate re-break helped her to get back in the match. Since this moment, Nicole was absolutely dominating on the court. Her four aces helped her as well and Nicole didn't hit any double faut. Nicole was struggling a bit when serving for the match, obviously she was a bit nervous, but managed to close the match on her fourth match point.

Nicole will play her second round match today against Kaia Kanepi of Estonia. The schedule starts at 10 am Memphis time and Nicole is scheduled to play as second on COURT 1.
